I have figured out Tanzania’s problem. And it’s not just education (thought it’s a huge part of it). It’s their traditions. I haven’t been this sun-burnt since, oh I don’t know, maybe the family reunion in Florida in June 1990. The funny thing is that I applied SPF 30 everywhere, but only got burnt on my back, the inside of my left knee, and on top of both feet. Sigh. Note to self: next time bring [...]
